I don't get this. Maybe it was initially sold too cheap and maybe some think 25K is a bit rich but you are talking down the values of your own cars, unless of course as we all think your car is the best and all the rest are rubbish. 3000S,s are incredibly rare and well sorted are brilliant to drive, much better than many contemporaries. OK, they have side screens, so do many big Healeys and Morgans still do. OK they leak......so do Healeys, Morgans, Cobras !

OK it's not restored, does everything have to be too nice to use and I,ve seen plenty of restored cars that were better before they were. Chrome, leather and powder coating don't make a car necessarily better.

Quick look round PH classifieds, is a very sorry Lotus Élan import worth £12750? Or LHD Élan Sprint coupe worth £29950

How about a 1961 side screen Healey 3000, very nice unrestored with a Corgi model at £64000 and reimported Big Healeys starting at £49950?

MGA,s from £26950 to £45000?

Of course they are all worth it but you won't find any of their followers on Internet forums saying " how much ???!!!".

Fair point stand corrected I did point this out to the original seller that the price he let it go at was a bit lean especially as he was selling it on behalf of a local customer guess he just wanted to move it on and get his commission.
every car has a buyer I am sure this one will

Wasn't directed specifically at you, it' seems to be a general TVR PH malady

Understood but your right
We are lucky enough to have some of the most unique cars ever built and in numbers that some marks built in a month or even a week and they need preserving and I guess that some don't realise that higher values actually help this happen.
As long as they don't all end up in Glass box collections as second pensions.
Judging by the number of 60s TVRs on the market most are being kept and treasured although there does seem a number of 70s cars on the market so the choice is good

There's a really nice looking 3000S on Car & Classic for a more down to earth price.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C467167

I wonder if it'll reappear at £25k.

Touchy, debatable subject this....

I tend to follow the market a bit, both UK and the continent, but am, by no means, an expert

Good cars are commanding about 20/22 K on the continent, and have stagnated somewhat for the last year. In the UK prices have been on the up, all that time from averaging 8k to 16/18 K now (all in £)

Question obviously is, what is a good car ? To me a mechanically sound car (engine, underpinnings, chassis) is a good car. Secondly what is the purchase price/repair cost ratio ?

You could get lucky and grab a bargain, but that dictates 'TVR knowledge', and that is just the problem, people not in the know buying mediocre cars and thus adding to the problem of making the car worse !

Steve is actually right, TVR' (across the range) are underrated and underpriced, we do need some catching up and then some concerning owners in the know of this unique brand that TVR is.

Post not intended so offend anyone,

Frank

That's more like it Chris that is the car that sold earlier in the year for 14k so the dealer has reduced the price some what with his expenses etc I suspect she is now about right although impossible to tell just from pictures

I hadn't realised that it's the same car Andrew. I suppose it's being sold on through the trade. It's much nicer at £18k than £25k smile

Yes David when it comes to 3000s you need to be patient

I know of a car that will probably come on the market next year that is mechanically quite good as had a lot of work and mechanical upgrades done although not sure to what standard.
However as long as your not to fussy about paint and trim etc it could be an option if it comes up it would need repainting and re trimming or at least a new hood as it leeks much worse than most but may be an option should it come up.

I'm not sure what colour this is?
The owner needs a little nudge to get it out and clean it...
