I am busy trying to trace the history of my 1978 3000S.chassis n° 4430FM Works order n°78/3489

This is what i have come up with: Bought from Polaris TVR dealer Grayshot Surrey 28 sept 1978
Reg N°AWB 633
MARCH 1981 CHANGED REG TO N° HPU 327T
JAN 1982 CHANGED REG TO N° AEC 627
MARCH 1983 CHANGED REG BACK TO N° HPU 327T.
I can only find 8 previous owners but the "V5" states 16 confused
It's fun trying to find and imagine it's history

You can download the form from the DVLA webb site and fill that in send with a £5 cheque and they will send you all the owners details over the years not sure if they will send abroad and no only the Owner of the car can apply as I tried for Steve in Australia

i understand that you need to be the owner and also UK resident.
The Lotus Elan net Forum are trying to make a case and list to present to DVLA.
If the DVLA agree they could i am sure double or triple the charge and there would be a lot of takers for sure.
I have some information about owners that was supplied by thr TVR Club which helps a lot

Yes I think its something that when an overseas buyer purchases a car here its worth asking the seller to apply before transferring ownership its rather unfair that its only available to UK residents
