Nowt wrong with good old copper NGKs. Iridium are good for emissions and last longer, but they're also much more prone to fuel fouling (and much more expensive).
As Usual there are more answers than products out there
best to ring some you trust and ask them thats what i did and do on most things as the forum becomes a jumble of answersA

Another vote for the NGK 6' here, tried the equivalent iridiums, they became too hot on higher revs causing pre-detonation (state of tune dependable, obviously)
From Memory Frank thats why i fitted 7s but will have to check as they are a cooler plug its not the cars that have changed over the years but the fuel you buy thats changed A

Good idea, I trust these guys.Their TVR records don't go back far enough, try 3.0 Granada.

If anyone can convince me an £8 spark plug will make a noticeable difference over a £2 one in an "old thumper" like the Esssex I'll get my wallet out

The state of tune of the engine has changed, but still found she ran better on copper 6' than equivalent iridiums
Mind you, that is not to say that there aren't better performing plugs...
