Does anyone know the likely budget cost of getting these cars back to the UK? What % VAT etc and rough costs for US transport to docks and shipping?

Ps I looked at a T Ford Speedster not long ago and it he rule of thumb was dollar price = total cost in £ to get it on the doorstep here although we were dealing with a purchase price around $6000

I think the cost varies depending on what side of the country the car is being sent from. VAT and all other associated cost should remain the same.

Possibly 5% (min) VAT + shipping etc could get this to over £25,000 is it an investment here for a LHD drive car? I don't know but I'm interested to see if anyone has done this and the actual costs involved... The US is a big market and many cars come back here having been bought cheaply in US from local ads and once someone has done it there's the confidence to repeat

I suspect that as they only show one pic of the outside of the car, that there could be a lot more work hiding under the bonnet/shell.

Is 21k for an unrestored '74 2500M a good price, not taking into account shipping/transport?

40hrs of 'servicing' won't have covered much.
If the car had spent all it's life in Baha California's dry climate, only used a few weekends a year, then it could be in good condition under the skin.
St Louis is a different climate, though.

This looks like a barn find that's been put back on the road as quickly as possible, for a profit.

Doh! Sorry.

However, in my (unprofessional) opinion, that car has been resprayed/retrimmed, so is not original.
It looks pretty nice, though!

Am I missing something? Seems to me over priced, over there, not the model / engine of choice, LHD, oh and those orange bits of trim - vomit
