Whats the story behind the non std Diff? i am assuming this was a historical change from an MGB Banjo unit before TVR started using the 4HU….and consistent with its period history..lovely looking car and very nicely built..Was this a racing car in its day or has it been re-created as one.

Does anyone know the race history - I was under the impression the colour scheme copied Jack Griffith's Cobra to show 'what could have been' if Griffith had raced the car in period.

When the builder asked Jack Griffith at Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in 2011 was the colour available originally or any car done OE in the Colour his reply was "Well it is now" LOL

Ok, just spoke to Randy. History is car was wrecked with only 1904 miles on the clock. Was stored for a number of years and sold a few times before Randy purchased from a neighbor.
Diff was switch out to the Mustang version as it employs an alloy case and is stronger than the original unit, and lighter than the Salibury.
Colour scheme was selected by Randy to mimic the cobra that Mark Donahue drove. It was not a TVR colour, but when MR Griffith saw it he said it was!

so its a re-built crash damaged car, re-built with no racing history. painted in the wrong colour, fitted with the wrong later model lighter diff…etc etc.

In all seriousness it looks lovely, I just find it amusing how others seem to view cars with rose tinted specs when talking about what is good / not good, Original / not original. etc etc.
