Does anyone know anything about the history of this car, which is on Ebay? Item # 4565852878

Nigel a few years ago this car was up for sale with a trader for a long time (at least 2 years!) priced at £15K ish.

The chassis has obviously been modified (don't know why as people have got 289s and 302s to fit in the standard wheelbase).

I'm sure its a lot of fun, but at the price that the seller probably wants you could get a Griff or Chimaera or immalcualte M Turbo or S Turbo, you'd really have to love a modified M to buy this one IMHO

Just an aside on this one, anyone know how the owner has been able to put a "newer" registration plate on an older car - Taimars were never "C" plated (around 1985/1986?), and I thought this was very much against DVLA rules because the plate implies that the car is newer than it actually is.

Any chance they may have been able to claim a more recent age of registration because it was rebuilt?

Stuart.

From what Marshall has said on the pre-80s e-group, this car was registerd in 1985. It also has a chassis number of 30 greater than the last M-Series.

I have had an email from the seller;
He says that it was built for a wealthy industrialist. Has a 5 speed box that was meant for an Aston, Jag rear with inboard discs. Foam filled fuel tanks, Aircon, Special dash,widened track & was built with no expense spared, but was kept in stoarage for a long time. He says he has done some work on it & it now corners & has put 1000 miles on himself.
I am unable to get to see it before the auction ends, but am still interested if the price is right and it is as useable as my taimar.
