Could be an in-line fuse to the main light switch? I know the headlight flash comes off a different feed (I think...)

From what I've learnt over the last 22 years ownership of M-series cars, it could be a loose dipstick thats the cause or maybe too little air in the nearside rear tyre

Try looking for the h/lamp relay mounted on the cowl rt. of center of vehicle. It shold reside just below the weatherstrip at the rear of the bonnet opening. The impact of the bonnet dropping probably knocked the connector off.The under side of the bonnet may even contact the relay, mine hits the top of the relay.I also have the same intermittnet problem, need to relocate mine.

Vixens didn't originally come with relays so unless yours has been rewired with one I think your problem lies elswhere.

I found a fuse box . . . .next to the voltage regulator behind the filter king on the bulk head . . . .very cruddy, seems to be the problem, I cleaned it up a bit and the lights seem ok . . .except this morning as its so wet daan saaf at the moment . . . .a quick tap did the trick! then a good warm blast of thrashing to Gatwick. next up is to try and seal the rear screen . . . . .and throw the dynamo away and get an alternator so it charges the battery properly ;-)

Mushrooms, now there's an idea! Actually, having said that, a friend of mine had some quite sizeable mushrooms growing in the footwell of his Chevy Caprice a few years ago. He got quite fond of them but I don't think his girlfriend was too impressed.

The rolling road is a bit of a last minute necessity rather than somthing that was planned. The engine has been running extremely roughly the last few weeks and I'm taking the car down to the southwest on Friday so I thought I'd give it a Christmas treat. I've never had it done before so am quite looking forward to the experience .

Regarding a dry interior, a mate with an S3 has resorted to keeping a large bag of silica gel in the cabin....
