Colour quest TVR Trident #2
Discussion
So what to do with a beautiful Fiore-Fissore design of the 60s?
I can't make up my mind about the colour.
Tried primrose yellow (the original), bianco polo park, Ferrari grigio ... not really happy about them.
I am actually looking for a subdued Italian shade that goes with the striking lines of the design, a black leather interior and wire wheels.
All suggestions, beautiful classic pictures ... welcome. Thanks.

Try this Jos,

What about an Imperial purple, Roman colour with TVR connections.

Jos - it would look absolutely terrific in champagne gold! Better than silver I think, is a colour at least 2 of the Tridents have been before, and is different from the other 3! Neil is right (as always!)I can't make up my mind about the colour.

Neil, Norman....
just waiting for Chuck...so the smallest car-club in the world is present.
thinking about the champagne gold but can not find a colour-sheet or a paint-number, one day it was that tint I guess.
any help?
The rear-screen issue is discussed with Pilkington now. The beauty deserves more than plastic. Not cheap, but beauty has its price.
thanks for the support

Mercedes do/did a nice champagne gold but I think the most attractive was a Saab colour on the old 9000.
Pilkingtons in Queenborough made some new rear screens for the Trident Car Club; of course they don't fit the real thing though so you'll have to start again! Dave Rowlinson of the TCC might give you some feedback/idea of the cost however.
Best regards
Neil
Found original Sikkens colourbooks from the sixties this weekend and kept looking for hours (I'm colourblind now)
Special things such as :
-Ford 1963 Castillian Gold Ford M30 J1459 gold-light greyish, prob comparable as Champagne Gold
-General Motors 1964 Willow Mist GM 499 is a greenish like old Astons
-Ford 1963 Silver Mink Ford M30 J1446
and a perfect Fiat 1962/63 Vert Clair, but not for the Trident, very light green as the Ranger trucks in Lassie. The spare M race body will be faster in this.
Made an appointment with the paintshop, the difficult one is a modern number that matches the original. We'll try a scan and compare with new paint tints.
Thanks for your help, will look at your numbers also.

Jos,
Permit me to chime in here, as I'm the one who found the Trident for Chuck in the first place and was there to help him load it on the trailer and take it home. I would agree with the Champagne Gold as the color choice. I am anxious to see photos of the finished project after all these years. Good luck.

hello Gregor
Not blue, number 2 is silver (basic paint) for the moment.
Working out the matching colour-numbers for the Champagne Gold and other colour-tints with the paint-shop. , Founding paint on water-base and modern number that matches the original isn't easy.
Thanks for your interest

Hi Jos
I think gold will be good. I don't know if you saw the photos I took of the TVR Tina but there is some of the original colour gold there. Someone e-mailed me and said it was an Austin colour of the time but I don't know if that's true.
Keep us updated, would love to see some more pictures of your car.
