just got my engine back after rebiuld which included new clutch.connected engine and gearbox together dropped them back in, connected prop selected first gear,their doesn't appear to be drive,back wheels of the ground select first gear and i can still spin the rear wheels, my taimar has the f type gearbox with over drive if that makes a difference,what have i missed any suggestions or where have i gone wrong

Did you get this sorted ?? Some of the Gilberns have the Type F with overdrive as do Scimitars.

There is a thread on the Gilbern forum about stuck in first gear. Setting up the selector rods is apparently quite a pain (never done it myself).

Doug Kennedy has an excellent Scimitar website with a rosejoint upgrade to the selector levers and good info on setting these things up.

yes got it sorted,i think it was just me, head was in bits just in a mad rush to get my new engine up and running,so far no more problems apart from a slight water leak from the water reservoir,i think that might have to be replaced next,then the wiring,front suspension,respray,interior it just goes on and on.
