Anybody fancy doing the classic race this year, I'm taking my eldest boy, found some good camping with restaurant or may even do Maison Blanche again. Thought it might be nice for a few of the older cars to meet up!
post your thoughts......
Supes.

Hi Supes,

I'm also planning to go with my 16(17 by then) year old step son in my Taimar and would be interested in getting together with a few others. I've just posted something similar at http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Sounds good to me. I'm looking forward to it, I haven't been to the classic before. Don't know how soon you can book for the classic, I have heard it's not as difficult to get a good site.

I will be there, hopefully in the Vixen (if I get it sorted in time!) with a couple of friends in their Fiat 124 spiders.

We went to the 2006 event (all crammed in my quattro) which was without doubt, the best event ever for anyone into classics.

We have booked through the Automobile club de L'Ouest who organise the ticketing (much cheaper than through any british agent) but last time I looked, the on site camping appeared to be fully booked. Go to www.lemansclassic.com for the link to book.

If you are heading down that way (I am going from West Yorks) maybe we will see you.

Which port are you going from? We are using Norfolk line ferries from Dover-dunkerque for a very reasonable price per car!

Cant wait!!!!!!!

Cheers
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Doesn't sound good about the camping eek

It would be good to hook up with you on the way down, could pick up Supes from Nottingham and lets see if there are more wanting to join in, hopefully end up with quite a convoy.

I went with Eurotunnel last year, but I'm open to travelling with whoever. If we can get a group we might even get some discount.

Cheers,

ColG

Hi ColG

Norfolk Line was pretty good last time. Only £46 per car return for the time of day we are going which is midday-ish (they do have an offer on at moment). Only 2 hour crossing and good grub on board!

We are going down on the Weds and making a long trip of it so if you were going down just for weekend could meet up further down or at circuit.

Hi Paul,

I think the Wednesday might be a day early for me (lucky to get a 4 day pass from her that must be obeyed).

Need to check out the camping before I book anything else.

If the camping through the Le Mans site is booked up, then www.justtickets.co.uk have camping available but you have to buy the camping and 2 entry tickets with them as a package.

Hi Supes,

Camping is the only way to do this event!! I’m planning to leave from Newark on the Wednesday afternoon if you are interested.

James,
I was going to try this place: http://www.bountylemans.com/lemansclassic.html
It's a bit expensive but has good reports and beer on tap!
Have you booked yet!

Hi Glyn

This looks good. I am going to give the 24hr a miss this year so this could be a good alternative. Although im dicing with selling the Tuscan so not sure if I will still have it.

I have to pay for my entry into the TVR Challenge somehow!

Yes it does look expensive and I’m not sure where it is on the circuit!
Have a package lined up that’s £160pp Inclusive of return ferry crossing, Le Mans “Maison Blanche” camping permit, Entry & Paddock pass.
