just been having alook at trackdays forum, may be one day i might do a track day with my taimar i know any thing like a hot hatch would run rings round it but so what, anyway just read that to do a trackday you need a towing eye,so i'm almost sure that i havn't got one, does this rule out trackdays then?

I'd recommend a TVRCC track day as a starter, good value and TVR biased (although not exclusive).
As for a towing eye, they are only required in the event of an off, where you might get stuck in a gravel trap, or break down so the marshals, who do a sterling job by the way, can easily get you off the circuit to saftey with minimum disruption to the track time available. So with an M series TVR all you need is to carry a sling or tow rope that can easily be wrapped around the chassis tubes to get a tow onto.
Don't uderestimate how well an M series in good fettle can handle a track, they are very cabable, and more importantly, more fun than your average hot hatch, not that hot hatches aren't fun, just in my opinion/experience less involving.

just be careful that you don't book on the same venue as John. he tends to go round anticlockwise. he's the trackday equivalent of the guy at the pool that does widthshehe

As Ian says, Cadwell is probably the best one for you to go on, it's a great track and is allways a well run day (weather permitting).

I wish I had a video of GAjon at Cadwell taken from my Scooby when it spent lap after lap up his ar*e, the motions at the wheel were quite entertaining (though I will admit that he was (slightly) quicker on the straights!
