Another day, another question im afraid.

What do most people have in the way of audio systems in their M series?

I can appreciate that the car is pretty loud, but I still want to be able to listen to the radio...

At present I have a pair of 6x9s built into the rear parcel shelf, and a slot in the dash for the head unit....thats about it...

Has anyone added any speakers up front? If you have any photos or info of what you used I would really appreciate it.

No pictures sorry, but, if you are going for additional speakers, you could do what a friend of mine has successfully completed, that is -

2 additional speakers in the B pillar space and 2 additional speakers in the foot well side panels, it works very well.

I would avoid door speakers because of water ingress.

John.

Has anyone installed a new head unit in the Taimar/M series and found a great place to hide it? I want to keep the original in the dash as it is period and want to hide a new unit somewhere. Any ideas?

Can you not mount the new head unit in the dash, and then chop the front off the old one to make a sort of false door infront of the new tech?

my choice is the rumbling note from the exhaust!

I have an MP3 unit/amp - this will then just be a jackplug socket showing in the facia, the question is where to put the speakers without trailing wires everywhere so the the view is to intigrate some NXT speakers when i get the car retrimmed. But this is a long way off.

If you have or can get hold of a period radio or radio/cassette The Vintage Wireless Company 0161 9730438 may be able to help. They put in modern electronics, FM and ipod connections.
