My Vixen has a type ford 3 4 speed gearbox.

On the Capri/Cortina the speedo cable is secured to the gearbox with a circlip. On mine gearbox the speedo cable is secured with a small bracket
that is screwed on the outside of the gearbox.

Was this a modification by TVR because the speedo cable is not a standard Ford cable?

To be sure...the finger bracket that holds the cable onto the gearbox is held by a 1/4 UNC bolt and the speedo end is a push on? or screw on? Adrian@
The bracket is indeed held onto the gearbox with a small unc bolt and the speedo cable end is a push on. Is this a TVR or "former owner" modification?

On the Ford type 3 gearbox the Ford speedo cable is hold with a circlip.
Is this finger bracket to hold the TVR cable also from TVR?
Why not use the Ford circlip.
