Speedo has packed up, brass dust everywhere inside, seems to be coming from the metal disc at the rear of the movement.

I dont suppose anyone has a spare they want to sell?

You may come across something suitable elsewhere - I believe those fitted to the MGC may be compatible but apart from checking connections, make sure they have the correct TPM - the figures should be printed on the speedometer face. Having checked mine, there is a figure of 1020[?] - the speedometer reads slightly over when compared with the SAT NAV, some 4mph at 70.

Thanks Alan, I will keep a look out but I fear MGC's may be a bit thin on the ground now!

I may have one on the donor car I bought to help with the repairs to the Pumpkin. You could contact John Wadman at TVRNA and ask whether they dumped the instruments when they got rid of the body. If not you are welcome to it as long as you pay the shipping. The donor car was a 1974 2500M

I was looking at a Reliant Scimitar GTE SE6A, that was parked next to me in a car park last night, and I noticed that the speedo is exactly the same as an M series so it may be worth asking on the Scimitar part of Gassing Station, looking on Ebay or contacting one of the Scimitar specialists like Queensbury Road Scimitar http://www.qrgservices.co.uk/qrg_welcome.htm as they may have a second hand one.

I asked John Wadman today if he had dumped the dash board with the scrap body from the donor car and he said he would look. If you are still interested in a speedo I will let you know the answer when I get it. (And my car should have completed its resurrection by sometime in May cloud9)
