Heard it caught fire and burnt out or maybe a crash?

Anyone got any history on the car, what it competed in for instance, how fast it was, etc?

Its a very sad story but essentially Brian Hough was killed in the car when he crashed at Thruxton
the car was comprehensively destroyed and then cut up into a hundered pieces and disposed of.

I may be wrong Wim but I don't thinks so.

Brian did drive a tuscan V6 but later switched to the ex richard taft Big banger built by Mike Bigland in the pictures. it was this car that he was killed in at Thruxton.

Why is there no book with all the historic photo's and details of TVR racing from 1960-1980?
There are lot's of photo's of old Grantura,Griffith,Vixen,Tuscan and M racers.
Maybe something for Mr Filby?

I think you're quite right. there does seem to be a big gap for a book or chapter with this part of the history of TVR.

37 - Eek.

Mind, when you look at the cages they ran then - hardly surprising.

Bet it really is just that back cage bit you can see. No front cage or underdash hoops.

That thing had 4 sets of disc to work loose too - maybe I'll stick with rear drums, even though I plan to have mine as fast.

Height - did you ever get the bombproof rear uprights (steel or FIA alloy), if not I am wroking on something wink

Sold Chim - so full speed ahead on my Steve Watton Clone!

It's not only the Griffiths but the wheels brakes off an M too.
Another one lost a rear wheel at the Belgian Historic Cup at Zolder last weekend!

All those old Triumph rear hubs have been refurbished so many times and are getting to be 40 years old. They were never built to do what is asked of them in a 300+ bhp race car on modern sticky rubber.I have access to a modern and totally interchangeable rear hub sold elsewhere for much more.

If racing you need the rear hubs replaced with really beefed up alloy replacements (from 2 place that I know of) or steel fabricated replacement. I would not think of using the std ones I have with my car (rebuilding) even for the road and this will have way north of 400bhp.

From the adjacent thread, it's starting to sound like it was the other modsports TVR that was disposed of as you mentioned; perhaps this one still exists, then.

Best,
