Essex pcv

Is the pcv on the essex engine spring operated or does it purely function via vacuum / gravity?

Do you mean the pvs, as shown on this scan? If the picture comes out that is.

Ah! I dont have one of them ( or a pvs come to think of it), anyway Adrian how are you? I'd heard you'd been poorly, hope your fully recovered.

Out of interest if you have one of these valves with nothing connected to it should it be plugged off?
