can anyone help regarding tax exemption
the tvr is registered april 73 is there anyway to prove this was manufactured before 73 to benefit from tax exemtion??
A car I believe to be exempt from Road tax has to be Built (note not necesarily registered) before 31.12.1973. as such you don't need to prove anything, your log book should be ample.the tvr is registered april 73 is there anyway to prove this was manufactured before 73 to benefit from tax exemtion??
regards Build date. david gerald will provide details of build docs often for a fiver. Not sure if chassis number build dates are provided by the TVR Archivist in the Club.

I got confirmation from TVR Archivist that my 01Jan 73 M was in fact built in Sept.72 and took this to register car -they took one look at registration date and accepted that it must have been built in 72 without even looking at letter, but April might be pushing it a bit.
Best of luck.

I seem to remember reading somewhere on the DVLA website that they will allow historic exemption on cars registered up to 15th January 1973 as they assume that they would have been built in '72.
April may be too late I am afraid.
It's about time we got the tories back in and got them to re-introduce the rolling 25 year exemption!
