Anyone interesting in a 68 Vixen?
Discussion
I have a mate who has a fair few cars parked at my place. He also has a 68 Vixen sat doing nothing. It needs a bit of work to get an MOT but is basically sound. It will need to be trailered and is in SE Cornwall. 1600 crossflow. A fair few spare parts. Non-original seats, funny electrical gremlins.
Shame really, but when he has got rid of this, he can shift some of his other junk from my place. Including 3 Suzuki Jeeps, 1 hovercraft, 1 fisher fury fireblade spider, 1960 mini and a rally pinto engine. All for sale.
Give me a PM if you're interested in any of the stuff. Gedon!

Hey people,
I am ?DAVE'S? SLACK (see: busy) freind with the Vixen (cheers Stu)
I have had a few inquiries due to Stu's post so thought that it would be easiest to just stick the desciption and photo's on this thread for you all to see.
A summary of condition of and work carried out to the Vixen.
She’s a 1969 s2 vixen,
Reg number NMB504H
Chassis number LVX14984
I have a HPI check from 2002 that’s is all clear for what its worth. And all the information the DVLA has including copies of the original bill of sale and most of the log books/v5's, if not all of them.
This is from memory so will probably miss quite a lot out and as I’m sure you know that in the course of doing any job three more things requiring attention. And was carried out in 2002/3/4
-Front brakes refurbished
-New brake servo
-New brake pipes at front to high standard, properly bent with benders not fingers.
-Braided hoses all round
-Refurbished rear brakes, new slave cylinders, shoes and modified adjusters
-Front trunnions replaced
-Repaired front nearside chassis rail next to engine mount (common fault as I’m sure your aware) chassis rail now has a 10gauge tube through the middle of it as recommended by TVR specialists and enthusiasts
-Replacement engine from an Escort GT, the engine that was in the car is included in the sale think this one had been played with a bit as it has large valves and a ported head but is in bits and is not the original. Both engines have 711 blocks.
-Replaced both sill tubes and I’m pretty sure if my memory serves me the front out rigger tubes (behind front wheels) and all four corner body mounting plates
I also have a box of bits and pieces that where bought and not fitted for one reason or another
-Full set of poly bushes from super flex
-New old stock MGB heater control knobs
-New pressed aluminium rear number plate
-Individual letters and numbers to make the front grill into the front No plate
-New springs for rear brakes
This is all I remember off the top of my head and hopefully will have time to dig through the shed and see if theres more.
The car has been retrimmed at some point and is missing it's original steering wheel, it has five TVR alloys and comes with numerous stress cracks in the body, a slightly opaque plastic rear screen and the bonnet got detached from its hinge frame by the wind the other day, although this needed attention anyway as the frame/hinge assembly has seen better days!
And of coarse it is an unrestored 40 year old car
Any questions don’t hesitate to ask
Cheers Luke
