I can't be the only one who wants to fit a radio in a 1972 car that doesn't want to make an unsightly mount to over come the shallow depth behind the dash. Can I?

When I got hold of the car it had a radio that didn't work and was mounted so far forward it fouled the handbrake.

Is there a shallow radio system that'll fit? Is there an alternative location I've not thought of? I only want to be able to listen to the radio and connect my ipod while I'm commuting, I'm not worried about a CD player.

All ideas are welcome.

Thanks
Rob

Oh forgot to add that I don't want to spend much money. I do already have a Blaupunkt Mp56 but I guess I'll ebay it if I have to.

I managed to get a full size head unit in my car...Sits on a 3/4" spacer on the dashboard, profiled covered and with piping added to match the rest of the interior, it looks pretty good IMHO...

More than enough space to opperate the handbrake... It is tight with space behind the dash mind you!

That looks good. Although my handbrake does get very close, I'll have to check.

Thanks
