What is the consensus regarding the best oil to use in the Essex engine? How much does it take? What about plugs, any favoured ones?

A good quality 20/50 mineral such as Valvoline R but minerals don't like extended periods in the sump so drop it every 3000 miles or 6 months

Or a Good Quality synthetic 20/50 or even a 10/60

Thanks for the reply. I have used Valvoline VR1 in my pinto's and crossflow's, so its good to know the same is best for the Essex. What's the capacity?

Does anyone have a plug reference?

4.5 litres will be a good start. Plugs - BP6EV for a standard engine.
