If you could choose what colour to respray your Vixen what colour would you go for?

Friend is rebuilding one and cannot decide what colour to have it sprayed.
We thought about the orignal colour but it was a s**t brown.

I think orange Vixens look good. Anything 60's/70's- bright green!?

IMHO they look stunning in metallic burgundy with a silver roof - similar scheme to the Griffith 500ML published in some of the history books.
My own was deep met blue (with silver roof) and it too was a fine looking car.

Try looking at TVRCCNA and go to the Woodwork photo pages. As most of the TVRs in the states are classics there are a large variety of colors on the american owned vehicles. Some are original and some not, In particular look at the burgandy metallic tuscan V-8 one of the better colors for a vintage TVR IMHO.

Another vote for bright orange here!!! There was a Porsche Orange around this period that looks great. I once viewed a 2500 in this colour and it looked great, shame the rest of the car was a shed!

Bright Yellow isn't too bad but its becoming a bit common on Vixens/TuscanV6s!!!

That was what we thought about both yellow and orange.
Have friends with both colours so wanted to be different.
I quite like the creamy white.

All we need now are seats!!!!!!!

Hey ho what fun we have!

I used to have a 1970 Vixen, but wrapped it around a telephone pole. So sad. Prior to that, I had decided that when I repainted it (it was red) I was going to do it the colour that carwax goes when it dries in the stress cracks...

My vixen's dark green, ? metallic but looks more like the metalflake ones that used to be popular on GRP beach buggies. No idea what the colour actually is but I've grown to like it so much that I'm still debating whether to keep it or go for the BRG I've always wanted. (currently the vote is with keeping it). If this is "aquatic jade" then it really suits the car - as you'd expect.

Our Vixen ('69 S2) was originally 'Sherwood Green' - a darkish green metallic. It's now Midnight Blue

Any chance we're talking about the same colour? (piccie's in the profile)

Quite possibly, but as ours was subsequently painted in an MG blue [by hand, with a 4 inch paintbrush in some places!] by the time we bought it I don't have much clear evidence of the green noted in the original sales details. I do still have the original bonnet though, so could have a check over that some time to see if any more comes to light. May be worth looking up old paint references (we did, to get an authentic 1960s Midnight Blue) - will check my notes for sources ... We did consider going back to the original colour, but the blue won in the end

Sports cars should be RED.
My vote would be for a nice sporty red with a couple of wide white stipes running up the centre and maybe some white, round, number backgrounds.

Wow, cheers. If only (after 2 years standing outside a garage) it still looked like that .
Mind you, it works now...

Absolutely!

In fact my Vixen is red with white roundals on the doors.
