Heres a good 'un for a laugh
Discussion
We were rummaging around in the back of the M today, checking the fuel tank as the gauge never gets to full.
We'd seen the speaker cables running under the transmission tunnel interior section previously, the car didn't have the rear sections that the speakers are usually fitted to. And after turning the radio on, we knew for sure that there weren't any speakers hidden anywhere.
So anyway, we've got all the carpets out, and we can see this speaker cable running to the back of the car,
somebody, had put both wires onto an eyelet, and then bolted it to an earth!
Both my dad and I proceeded to wet ourselves laughing, imagining what the hell might have been happening when we'd tried turning the radio on.
Surprisingly, when we removed this, and hooked it up to some speakers, it all worked fine. But god knows what the person who did it was thinking.
Although the cars wiring is pretty much one big laugh, there's live feeds on black wires, and some earths are red, and we also found a large mess of wire taped up ontop of the fuel tank, that was twisted onto a wire in the loom, but then didn't go anywhere,
Just thought I'd share this, as it definitely made us laugh, ;D

Do you have the dreaded all black wiring loom? The worst car innovation ever, bar none, and thankfully not adopted by any other car manufacturers as far as I know!
No, but maybe that's where the person who's messed with the wiring got the idea from.
Either that or it was done by children who wanted as many pretty colours as possible,

I have a complete black wiring loom, now thankfully out of the car and consigned to a large box. I will only get it out again to use as a pattern for a replacement loom I'll make once my Taimar once ready for a loom (several years away yet).
A work around at the time based on the fact that no one would supply TVR with short production run looms. But 30 years later and all the little colored rubber identification bands that TVR put at the end of each wire had all turned brittle and dropped off years ago.
Also made me wonder how the car had not turned into a Blackpool bonfire years ago, as all of the main loom is wired in the same gauge wire….
