I am working on the wiring for my Vixen S3.

My vixen has a hazard switch with on the back of the dash the hazard relay
Lucas 9FL with two connections B and L.

I also have the indicator relay Lucas 5FL with three connections B, L and P.
I know that P is for the indicator light on the dash.
L is power output if I am right and B is power input.

How must I connect those two relays? Just put the B and L from the two relays together?

Is there anyone who knows how to connect the relays together with the hazard switch
and the indicator stalk on the steering colomn and maybe can draw a wiring diagram?

Thanks!

Hi Eric, I've just looked up behind the dash on my S3 to see what goes where. I'm not sure if any of this will help but.....

Hazards switch :

First terminal has thick brown wire to the hazards relay. Second terminal has a thin red wire to the hazards light on the dash. The third terminal has a green & white wire and also a yellow (or maybe dirty white) wire but I can't see where they go. The fourth terminal has a green & orange wire going into the loom and also a white & yellow wire but not sure where to. I can't see any terminal markings.

Hazards relay connections :

First terminal has a thick brown & white wire going into the loom and also a thin red wire which goes to the hazards light on the dash. The second terminal has a thick brown wire which goes to the hazards switch. The third terminal is not used. The relay is not Lucas but a durlite and has no obvious markings for the terminals.

Flasher relay connections :

First terminal is thin green wire, second terminal is also thin green wire. Unfortunately I can't see where they go.

Indicator stalk :

Unfortunately both wires go into the loom so I can't help with this at all.

Hopefully a knowledgable person will pick up this thread shortly and explain all precisley. In the meantime hopefully this may help you a bit.

Steve

Thanks Steve this will make it a bit clearer but I stll have some loose ends..

There are three dash lights
Bleu is main beam
Yellow is indicators
and is the red one the hazzard light? I believe for the Vixen S2 this is the reverse light.

When you turn he hazard switch on are the red and yellow dash lights blinking?

All info how to connect the hazard switch and the relays is very welcome!

Eric,

Only the red dash light flashes when hazards on. The green dash light only flashes with indicators.

I am just going through the same ...adding a hazard system in, I should be able to sort a diagram out soon. PM me direct.
Re the orange light op on Vixen flashers, this is VERY common....my thoughts are even that this is a ex factory and that any that are green have been swapped (IMHO corrected) by owners along the way, as I find too often.

Adrian,
I was thinking if I connect it this way and I put the hazzard switch on you can get power backfeed
through the indicator switch if this is in the left or right turn position.
How can I solve this?

I am on my phone till Monday...I need to look at my scribbles. I remember that I wired the the indicator into the Green ignition switch and the hazards into Purple permanent live with a fuse, I used electronic relays (rather than hot wire). Adrian@
