Hi,

I love these car and i am about that close to get one but i need your feedback.

I have heard and read so much stuff about the poor handling of these cars ( i mean the non modified road version one) that i do not know what to do anymore as i dont want to compete but just enjoy the car on open road (but still wink )w/o ending off road....

Is it really that bad?

any piece of advice welcome?

thks

I ran one on the road in the UK for three years. As a road car it was a nightmare.

The (uprated) brakes and lights were completely inadequate for the performance. The ride was harsh and the car tram-lined badly. It felt unstable all the time and was very twitchy on anything other than A roads. The clutch was very heavy to cope with well over 350bhp and it overheated in traffic and in the cabin.

The upside: looked great, sounded even better and went like stink as long as there was no need to brake....oh and how many do you see on the road? I never saw another except at race circuits.

All depends on what is or is not done to them, to get them handling right.

Std car or even a modded one that was done long ago may have cambers / castors / toe all over the shop, crap tyres, floppy roll-bar attachments - the list could be endless. Have to be well maintained like anything.

They do have a crazy short wheelbase 85.5" (so 4.5" shorter tan most leater TVR's) so will obviously be a bit(!) rear endy.

If you get one, make sure the front and rear uprights are crack tested and preferably replaced with moderm alternative or an uprated "copy" of the original for much needed strength.

If you get one - you can tell us how it goes. Me, I'e never driven mine and had it over 5 years!

Spent alot of time "in it though".
