After hearing that Lotus spent "tens of millions" to federalize the Elise, how much $$$$ is it going to take to federalize the Tuscan and T350?

Just seems to me that if $32,000,000 is the magic number, then the compliance costs per vehicle for 3,000 vehicles over 2 years would be $10,666--adjusting for time value of money lets call it $13,000 per vehicle. A T350 costs GBP 40,000 divided by 1.15 to back out VAT times 1.70 (exchange rate)
plus $13,000 for compliance costs per vehicle=$72,130 for a T350.
Tuscan S=50,000GBP divided by 1.15 times 1.70 plus $13,000=$86,913
For Porsche eating performance, put me down for a new TVR!

I don't think they are worried about selling cars, I think the initial outlay of £20Million is a bit daunting.

IIRC the last time TVR exported to the US (under Martin Lilley) they got they're fingers burnt big time!!

I always thought he wouldn't take them to the USA due the amount of money he have to keep in reserve in order to deal with the US 'Lemon Laws' which we don't have here.
