Off Topic *** Tampolli SR2/LMP675 build by SS ***
Discussion
Something for those of you that know SS.
I know it is off topic but as a former racing Ultima owner, I regularly read this forum as such thought you may be interested.
SS is currently re-building my Tampolli SR2/LMP675 open top sports car.
It is chassis number RTA-2001 #006 the ex John Christie car which campaigned up to and through 2005. And as far as we are aware it is the only one in the country.
I did try to purchase the Colin Blower GT car that was being sold through Coy's, but gave up trying to deal with the owner - not sure if it has sold as yet!
As with all things new opportunities are around every corner, and I came to purchase the Tampolli SR2/LMP675.
SS being a good friend, conducted the appropriate due-diligence and once approved the car was purchased.
As I know a lot of the readers of this forum are keen followers of craftsmanship, as well as SS's exploits, I thought you might appreciate the build up.
I will be creating a thread under the GT Racing forum in the next couple of days where all the pictures etc will be posted, unless of course Stig is happy for a few to be shown here.
Anyway please enjoy.

pretty sure there are at least 2, but very possibly 3 in the country, or there were last year..
1 or 2 of them may have been sold to europe.
chassis number 12 is still for sale at the moment I believe..

I saw it yesterday and its looking fantastic with its black powdercoated panels and stainless rivets. A lovely Nissan V6 and a Hewland box.
A serious bit of kit!! sequential shifter etc etc I dont think much will get anywhere near it on track.
Very Jealous
As for Steve..... he is far too clever for his own good and he beat me on the chocolate digestives 3 to 1 as usual!
