I've been on the hunt for some new headlamp units for my 450SE as the reflector surfaces are a bit corroded and as we all know wedge headlamps are on par with with a birthday candle in their lighting ability.

Anyway, after a fruitless search on tinternet my local motorfactors came up trumps and sourced them for me.

They are made by Valeo (but badged as Cibie, which is the "performance" brand of Valeo.

Product Ref No 082402

I paid just short of £80.00 for the pair inc VAT.

I hope this helps.

Nice one! Would you say there's a fair chance that these will be the same units as for the 420SE?

The 400/450 lights are square. I think the 420SE had the round lamps with the longer pods.

I've Added the info to the Hard to get parts Wiki as I'm sure it will be needed again. I was never convinced about the metro or allegro sources as neither seemed to look the same as the wedge ones.

Hi
i recently replaced the square units on my 400se. There are made by Valeo and are (i believe) to be either from a commercial vehicle's driving lights (the sort that are mounted above the roof on a truck cab) or from an american car. Either way they are available via tvrcarparts (about £50 each)as are the metal back boxes (about £5 each). I can find the part number if required.
