Ironic discussions with Bruno Senna

Couldn't help the odd wry smile whilst watching Monaco FP1 earlier today on i.player.

Bruno Senna was asked (with reference to the ideal line through the swimming pool chicane) "don't know how anyone can come to terms with aiming their car at a wall". . . . well, amazingly , he managed to answer that one without cracking.

Later in the sessions he came away with a couple of gems "avoiding crashing is a good idea" & "a crash is never ideal" plus ca change Eh mate.

Can't help thinking that he is piggy-backing on the increased interest in the Senna name courtesy of the movie, whilst "popularising" himself with youtube films of Eau Rouge the wrong way, in the hope that people with seats on offer might forget his ability to crash to order, coupled with his very average pace at other times.

Seems like a nice enough bloke. . . . . but ?

It was impossible to judge his pace last year, because the HRT was just an all-round crap car with crap speed, crap reliability, crap in-season development, and crap team management. Put two drivers in so much crap, and the only result is... crap.

Well, he has "allegedly" shown he is willing to follow team orders. The question is whether the other teams would, in essence, let him drive. Would you want someone on the circuit with his (forgive the pun) track record?

Aren't you getting your drivers mixed up ? It was Nelson Piquet Jnr who crashed to order.

As has been said, it was Piquet Jr who crashed on purpose.

I like Bruno Senna, he's been good when they've had him on BBC. Would be a good replacement for Eddie Jordan, who can be funny (to laugh at) but does get right on my tits sometimes.

HAHAHAHA Classic! What you haven't mentioned is that Senna isn't his surname, it is Lalli and therefore he absolutely is piggybacking off the name. I don't blame him for doing it, but still...
