Bolt in Roll cages...

Hi All,
Just thought I'd drop a little heads up to those with bolt-in cages. The scrutineer made a couple of comments about the cage on the Griff, in that the bolt-in peice that goes across the top of the windscreen was wrong and should be welded in (his opinion if the car was to flip and land on them corners, the bolts would sheer and the cage would give...). Despite my disagreements to this, I've spoken to our cage manufacturer, who has assured me that bolt in across the top of the screen is still within the regs of MSA, despite a couple of changes. However, for the just incase (scrute not crash lol), I'm getting mine booked in to have the bracket changed to a weld-in.
Might be worth having a blue book handy incase any of your cars are picked up for this at Brands, seems some scrutes are looking for more things this year!!
Oh, and good luck to all at Brands - take them all home in one peice after racing!!

Yeah Leigh that's what I'm doing. They are taking the bolted bracket off and welding the bar in... It aint gonna cost the earth so wil let them do it (fuel will probably cost more getting the car there/back lol...)
