Humm, lots of waffle about noise but I can't for a second think it has anything to do with that or they wouldn't of taken the bookings to start with. Anyone else? Pee'd off to be frank, was looking forward to racing there.

Considering the state the place was in post Gillette, i'm more than happy to support any decisions Kevin makes to keep the circuit functioning and continuing to recover.

Well, yes I give you that. Still, when people plan stuff out over a whole year and everyone runs around organising it and then you cancel it with 6 weeks to spare on the vague notion of noise you can understand people won't be delighted about it.

It only mentions 'major events.' The only major event I can see that has been cancelled is the Superleague in August. Superleague ammended thier calendar a few months ago to omit the Donington round.

The press release from Donington was unclear, rather poorly worded and has started a whole load of rumours and speculation.

All club races have been cancelled at Donington. The races remaining are the international and the big British series only.
This is down to noise again. Another circuit with noise problems like Croft, Castle Combe, Thruxton and.........!!!
This is just crazy will we have any circuits left soon.

And the circuit is next to the airport also for god sake!!!! I have been told that this is down to one person in the local village that has managed to do this!!!!
Just as Donington had got back up on its feet and this happens to them.

There was a petition going around last year I think it was for Croft circuit when they had noise issues. Looks like it’s time to start another one!!! If people local to the track know they can stop racing like this we will not have any racing left.
This is just crazy I would love to meet the local people responsible for this.

So not as described in that Press Release?

Now as much as I love Dony and despise these moaners who continue to afflict virtually every racetrack in this country by moving near an existing racetrack, then moaning about the noise and trying to get it shut down (total lowlife as far as I am concerned), this is what it said >

"We initially over-subscribed to racing events in relation to the noise restrictions in place, explains chairman Kevin Wheatcroft. Although it's a tough decision to reduce the calendar, we know it is right for the venue."

Now that reads to me that Donington Park knowingly took on more Racing Events than the existing noise restrictions would allow. Sorry to be blunt, but that sounds like utter stupidity on their part; were they hoping the NIMBYs would say to the Council 'cut dear old Dony some slack on the noise thingie'. Yep, pigs might fly. The way I am reading it, Dony has very badly let down really late in the day the likes of the BRSCC, OSS etc and all those who hoped to do those events. That may be of very little significance to DP itself, but my heart goes out to guys like that who work bloody hard for beggar all to arrange race series for ordinary Joes who want to race.

That is brilliant and to be warmly applauded, but OSS's Final Meeting of 2011 on 15/16th October 2011 has been cancelled and that should be booed with equal zeal.

At near enough the end of June, unlike the big fish with loads of loot and full time paid employees, the BRSCC now have to scramble around like headless chickens trying to set up a replacement.

dont belive a word of it!!!!!!......there are lots of club meetings still on!!!!!the superleague meeting has been cancelled, but the list only states MAJOR events, most if not all of the minor club events are unaffected, as its only due to an excess of NOISY RACE DAYS that has caused the problem.....drivers check with your clubs before jumping to any conclusions that your event may have been cancelled!!!

FFS! what the fk is wrong with some people? utter, utter tts!

Donnington Park. One of the countrys oldest motor racing circuits, right next to the bloody M1, and East Mids Airport, which incidentally is a major hub for freight, (DHL I think?).

I guarantee that whichever spastic mong breath wker(s) is complaining about noise moved there after the M1 was built, after the airport was built, and after the circuit was built punch

WHAT A fkING SELFISH tt! Stuff like this get rights on my bleedin tits.

Why don't the council just laugh in the complainee's faces and tell them to jog on?

if you want to live in a quiet place, don't move next door to one of the countrys busiest motorways, a busy airport and a motor racing circuit. fking tosser! shoot

When I implement my Reich, stfaced, cock sucking, dog fking, small minded, selfish, inconsiderate ahole tt father fkers like this will be burnt at the stake!
Top quality rantage there! 10 out of 10!!! clap

He loses half a point for not spelling 'Donington' correctly.

9.5 from this judge.

We were testing there a few years back and I had to get the guy to repeat himself when he told me we'd broken the noise limit. I couldn't hear him because the 12.09 to Malaga was overhead..
