According to the tvrcc website, the Donington meeting on 23rd July has been cancelled. Anyone know whether or not its being re-scheduled at a later date.

Just been on the Donny website and it looks like a planning application has resulted in cancellation of a number of events, DTEC included.

Donny management have cocked up their planning regulations and have had to reduce the number or race days this year. As as result several race meeetings have been canceled. Including 3 BRSCC weekends one of which on the 23rd July The TVR Championship was due to be racing at.

As a result John and the BRSCC are looking for an alternative venue, on the same date if possible to fit in with everyones plans. This has come as much of a shock to the BRSCC who were aware of nothing untill they say the donny press release.

As you can imagine there is a lot of work going on in the background to find a solution.

It is still expected that the TVR Championship will take place over the full compliment of 10 races this year.

It is a real shame about Donny, a very large grid was expected, with the likes of Danny, mike and Andy Joining in. I was aiming for it to be my first race this year in the Tuscan too.

That's not quite the whole story. The circuit made an informal agreement with the council to use some of their weekend track day allowance as clubbie race days this year. Unfortunately there was a change in leadership of the council in the local elections last May and the new lot have cancelled the agreement. Hence Donington now applying for a new permission to formalise things. As part of this process they have had to cancel the extra clubbie race days. Having dealt with Donny's local council on planning issues in the past we should be thankful relations seem amicable and cancelling some events is all they've had to do so far. The biggest cock up by Donny is how poorly they have dealt with organisers and competitors and the lack of communication.

That looks like 2 cockups in my book.... having delt with councils for the last 15 years, you never do anything informally.. unless its written in their blood its worthless, especially something like noise regs for a circuit... that is a cockup....

The way organisers and competitors have beem handled is frankly disgracefull...

Very true.

I have dealt with councils for alcohol licence side of this with the club that I work with and as you say there is no such thing as a gentlemen's agreement.

Basically, the old saying, "if it ain't written down, it never happened.

I'm sure that Castle Combe would fit you in that weekend. They have a sparsely populated two day meeting (Britcar).
