German F1 - 24th July - Transport/Parking
Discussion
Hi All!
Does anyone have any suggestions for parking at Nurburg for the German F1 on the Sunday 24th July?
I have 14 people staying in Koblenz and looking at the best way to get to the F1 and make the 22:20 crossing back from Calais on the channel tunnel.
The bus only leaves Koblenz at 08:30 and the race isn't until 14:00 German time.
So looks like it's drive and park but Silverstone takes 4 hours to leave so assume everywhere else is similar? Le Mans a few weeks back was just silly!
Thanks in advance for any help

Thank you, I called the German Tourist Board and then spoke to the Nurburg track office. Think that area is called Park Zone B and the area you have highlighted is B5 and B5a and I think it's free!
We were looking at D11 and A2, which are the red pay parking areas (20 euros per car) but we're too late to reserve, however it's possible to pay on arrival.
What was the traffic like in the area you have suggested for arriving and leaving?
I've heard stories of it taking 6 hours to get out of Silverstone...
Thanks!

At first traffic was poor, it took a few hours, but then suddenly over the autobahn, a chopper appeared, and suddnely the queue started moving. Ruthless german efficiency ;-> I love it.....
I know the area i've given you is correct, as i've saved them as gps waypoints on google, the whole carpark area there is free I do believe, but best check on arrival.
I stayed at the Hotel Stein in Koblenz if thats any help........
Sunday, silverstone to St Albans....4 hours.....
