Have tried to send ths to the Yahoo group but not sure if it worked. The paddock plan for Donington has just been issued. The TVR's are not in the paddock, but are instead on the 'Market Site'.

That meant nothing to me, so I have spoken with BARC and with Donington. The market site is a large area of tarmac adjacent to the circuit on the outside of Redgate. If you look at a Google map and switch to satellite view, you will see the tarmac area off to the left, with what looks like a kart track with a faint painted outline of the Donington circuit.

Type DE74 2RP into Google maps...

When I asked if there was security I was told, hestitantly, that the area is fenced off. When I look at the satellite photos it appears that there is an entrance to the area prior to the secured circuit entrance, however this may be closed off on Friday. Donington doesn't have the best of records for thefts from the paddock at the best of times, so I suggest everyone locks things away during track time.

Apparently there is a gate at the top end by Redgate for access for the race cars to the paddock, and there are no kerbs to negotiate.

So, the good news is there will be no overcrowding or having to park up on rubble or grass. The bad news is no power supply (which is pretty normal for Donington) and its a long way to the pit lane/race control/ toilets etc.

Its too late to load my decent generator as it needs to go in before the car . But I have managed to squeeze a crappy old little one on board. At least if that one gets nicked I won't be too upset.

And the beer fridge is now sorted drink

Someone should invent a scooter that doubles as a generator, ideal for those arse end of the paddock situations... idea

I spoke to Donington this afternoon and they confirmed that they were not happy about the security of the Market site. I was told that arrangements are being made to get us into the paddock 3 area which is behind a fence wall and will be covered by security.

Apparently Paddock 3 is on an area previously occupied by some large sheds near the site of Redgate Lodge. Donington will be looking at this tomorrow and should have it organised by tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed - Hui

I'm sure there will be plenty of room in the Paddock, probably on the left as you drive in, where there is now more space due to the buildings being removed.

I'll be there, but in the nicest possible way, I hope I don't meet any of you as I will be marshalling somewhere around the circuit. wavey

Really looking forward to seeing some TVR's around Donington again.

Irrespective of where we are paddocked, I shall have my Honda gene on board the racetruck and am more than willing to hook up at least one other neighbouring TVR team. I hope to arrive Thu by 7p.m. give or take.

BTW, can I suggest that the folks needing assistance, Andy, Dave, Richard, Hugh etc try and park up close by so that you can help each other in the first instance unloading cars etc.
