F1 Australia 2012

Hi folks, just booked my tickets for the Melbourne GP next year, i`m in the Schumaker stand, but would like to get into the paddock/pits, anyone know the best way of doing this, buy in advance, or on the day ?

You can't buy tickets for the F1 paddock or pits.
The public are not permitted access.

You can buy tickets for the paddock club - this sometimes includes a pit walkabout.

Yeah with Grandstand tickets when I went there was access to a pitwalk.. Which to be honest was ste. I felt like a sheep being herded along some tarmac. Hardly any time to look at anything. I enjoyed it much more after the GP just watching from the fence all the teams packing up. there were drivers like Jens who came over and signed autographs.

Its not up to the Aussies. Little Bernie controls all the GP's all around the world.

P.S...a message for Eric MC....sooooo sorry i said "MELBOURNE GP" i`ve just slapped my own wrist in disgust ! i should have said "Australian GP" tut tut, i hate that when i make mistakes like that, after all, anyone who owns a CATERHAM knows everything i guess !!!!!!! well done Eric for pointing that out to me, i`ll come to you whenever i need to know anything !!

Not that I called anybody an idiot, to be fair - but if you want confirmation......

Grands Prix are always called after the nation, or Continent - on the odd occasion, they reprsent, not the venue.

Yeah I guess. Just being a local seems a bit strange to call it the Aus GP. Same as when it was Adelaide we called it the Adelaide GP for us. We are simple folk

Well i`m going to call it the "Melbourne Grand prix" just as i heard the boss,Martin Brundle,call it the other week.
So as for "no such thing" there is now !!

Even Brundle makes mistakes. Nobody's perfect - except me, of course .

You won't see the "Melbourne Grand Prix" it on any formal F1 GP listings.

Well in a couple of years the rules will only permit steam powered cars and insist the drivers wear top hats...

That would be excellent. If Lord March can run such devices up the hill at Goodwood, then they should be good enough for the FIA.
