The BBC Rally report guys used to shift around in Sierra Ghia 2.9 4x4 estates - used to be fun keeping up with them ,flying between stages.

In those days we used to watch first 10/20 cars through a stage, and then go and park up for the next but one stage, along with many,many others - massive convoys of vehicles hammering between stages was an integral part of the fun of it all. We once did about 2500 miles spectating one year - every other stage for pretty much the whole rally, sleeping in the car, that sort of stuff.
