Webber/ RedBull underside video

Today on the F1 coverage they mentioned that a fan had videoed the underneath of Webber's car when it was being lifted after a crash and had posted the footage on Youtube. Apparently Adrian Newey was upset as it revealed some of their design details. Done some searching and can't find anything with google or youtube, its as if its magically disappeared. Anybody have a link?

I'm surprised there wasn't more of a fuss about this - they must have been quite concerned to have this much detail on view for so long.

Especially when on the grid before the start they have 6 or 7 team members all huddled around the back of the car trying desperately to hide stuff from the cameras there.

I suppose being Monza the track marshalls/workers saw an opportunity and took it!

What you can't see is shortly after they accidentally loaded up on a truck bound for Maranello. But thankfully the car will be returned in Japan, albeit painted red.

Having not seen the video before it got taken off Youtube I assumed it was a bit of a storm in a teacup with a few long range shots of the underside, but given that the viewing public was literally allowed to stand under the car and take photos / videos, I can kinda see why they might be a bit peeved off!

The video really isnt detailed enough to get much information from it... but some of those pictures others were taking will go for a pretty penny.

The video in that form at that resolution possibly not, but I suspect in the raw format with a bit of enhancement it might be quite useful.

Webber has got to stop doing this

Last year I'm sure he flipped the RB6 at Valencia to show off its underside.

And now....

Looks a very well packaged piece of kit..it is incredible just how small the engines and gearboxes are now. There looks to be just enough room for a 125cc bike engine in that car.

The long answer would describe the strop going through the roll hoop and how it is an integral part of the carbon tub. The tub which is subjected to all sorts of crash tests etc.

The short answer is no

I can see why he was angry, why was the car left suspended with lots of people allowed to walk about underneath it poking at it and taking photos. Wouldn't be surprised if a few of those were Ferrari engineers.

Ha ha, but thats Webbers car, Vettel's car is 1 second quicker per lap (unlike last year)!.

I would suspect that if the car had been left at ground level, there'd have been little left of it, and with the inside being more 'removable', to hoist it up out the way was probably the only option until a recovery truck was available.

Whilst I can understand Newey wanting to preserve his design secrets, its not monza'a fault that Webber left it stuck in a tyre wall is it...
