I think I'd rather see a posthumous OBE for Ken Tyrell / Chapman etc than Newey.
More topically I think Martin Hines should be honoured, not only was he a successful businessman he had a hand in promoting the sport at the grass roots level and has played a part in the career of many of todays British drivers.
Most people are honoured for their current work being the culmination of other very good work. But the current work is generally the most important bit. And at the moment he makes an Austrian team and a German driver very successful, at the expense of a British team and 2 British drivers.

Nice guy but come on.
How many millions a year does he get paid by an Austrian owned team to make a German world champion where doe that rate a Queens honour. If he had designed some super boat for free or a small fee to be an Americas Cup winner then may be but hell no. This is not over patriotic I would say the same if he had made Jenson champ in a Williams. He gets extremely well paid and enjoys the glory on a Sunday afternoon he does not deserve a Queens Honour for that. What about a few Marshall's who give up their time for the sport they love instead. I do not like Football never watch it but to be far Beckham does quite a lot for his sport so he deserved his accolades, ok you could say that he benefits brand Beckham to be the good guy but he still does it.
