Hi there,

If any of you guys are bored and looking for something to do this weekend, then get yourselves to Silverstone.

This weekend sees the final round of the 2011 British GT championship with a 2 hour race tomorrow afternoon, and then on Sunday Silverstone hosts the final round of the new Blancpain Endurance Series.
Trust me guys, there are some seriously cool cars racing this weekend.

This round of the British GT sees the biggest entry list for a few years with 31 cars lining up for the race on Sunday.

United Autosports are running three Audi R8 LMS in the race

Our own PGT/Backdraft team are joining the series for this round

The Jones brothers are racing in both this weekends big races in their superb SLS

Trackspeed have two 911 GT3R's entered (if they don't crash them in practice !)

Ginetta have entered their new 2012 G55 GT3, and I have to say it looks stunning and sounds superb.

In the Blancpain Endurance race there are two new McLaren MP4 12C GT3's

The MARC VDS BMW Z4 will be one to watch

There are loads of 458's with 11 different cars running between the two championships.

One of my favourite GT3 cars of recent years is racing as well. The Alpina B6

Finally another new car to the series, the JRM Nissan R35 GTR GT3

As well as the GT's you have Formula 3 (ZZZZZ), Formula Ford (more ZZZZZ), Ginetta Challenge and the VW Racing Championship. Get yourself to Silverstone, you won't regret it.

Will put a full selection of pics from today on my site over the next few days.

Regards

Tim

For those unable to make it in person, both of the F3 races and the Blancpain race are live on MotorsTV (Sky413) on Sunday.

If the British GT race at Donington a few weeks back was anything to go by, it will be a great race. I found it much easier to keep track of (and concentrate on) the 3 hour FT race that the 40 minute F3 race.

Hope I can make it to a few more GT races next year. But for now I will have to make do with the live Blancpain race coverage on Motors TV - perfect Sunday afternoon viewing.

Congratulations to Peter Belshaw & ABG Motorsport for a great win in GT4 with the KTM X-Bow despite all of challenging BOP adjustments (paperbag) towards the close.

Great effort & well done.

No mention of the Championship winners Jim and Glynn Geddie?

Third on the day but champions overall in the Apex Tubular Ferrari 458.

Well done lads.
