Concentric Thrust for T5 gearbox.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone running a T5 box with RV8 is using a concentric thrust rather than the old fork setup? If so, any info/advice would be welcome! Also, looking on google etc, seems Burton is the main place selling them at the moment - I assume others will too - anyone any experience?

I use one, but I also use the john Eales bell housing, so it's designed with it in mind. Mine uses a saab 9000 unit. Not had any problems since we built the car i. 2005

makes for a realy stiff pedal as there's no leverage.
Usual reason for failure is catching it on a gearbox change as the first motion goes through it.
Had one on the griff and it went a couple of times, but would hold on for race distance...enough fluid in the pot etc. We changed the gearboxes alot in the early days as we had 3 with different ratios.
The Tussie uses an upgraded lever and that MUCH easier on the legs, so I'll stay with that unless I have probs.

The pedal on mine is no stiffer than the chim, although I only use a John Eales fast road couch and griff flywheel.

I'd have thought the clutch type am more difference..

Buy American!!

summit racing catalogue lists some nice ones, or in the UK real steel.
I have used these in the past on the rear of a T5 coupled up to a 302 small block with no issues. master cylinder size dictates efficiency of the weight of the clutch!!

Thanks for the info chaps! Re: Bellhousing, not a problem to put an extra hole or 2 in the bellhouing to accomodate for the pipework etc. Will look into the suggestions so far!
