what motorsport can I use my car in?

so, I have an old and battered mondeo diesel estate. I've driven 60,000 miles in it in the last 6 years, so I'm kinda attached to the old girl, and would rather see her have a more fitting end than simply a crushing. Her MOT is out in Febuary, and I'm not going to put her in for another. So - what can I (with no motorsport licence) put her (and me) in to?

I'm thinking either grass track racing or some sort of nudge & spin thing, but I'm struggling to find a lot of info on them. From what I have read, mondeos are banned from a lot of nudge & spin/banger racing (i guess the rad etc are set in a fairly protected location) so any ideas on events that the car would be allowed in would be great. I'm not after doing 'well' - just to have a bit of fun really. I'm happy to spend a couple of hundred quid on putting a brace into the car, or whatever needs doing to make it safe enough.

I figure that such a car won't last very long in 'full contact' racing, but might be good for a full evening's entertainment in a nudge and spin kinda race? but I don't know anything about these kinda contests.

Sadly, the 0-60 time is somewhere north of 16 seconds, so anything based on a proper track is probably out of the question due to the incoming speed of other cars

Autotesting. I was looking at it yesterday and from the photos it's apparent that you don't even need to wear a helmet.

If the handbrake is like any other Mondeo I've driven, it will be useless at autotesting.

Bizarre that Mondeos are banned from banger racing though, surely they would want to use something so cheap and widely available.

Sportsman ET drag racing. It's all about consistency rather than outright speed, so you'll still be able to be competitive in it.

What about autosolos...Although i think the rules are you have to drive to the venue..Loads of events all over.
If you want to spend a couple of hundred quid anyway ..Why not on another MOT!
Speed isnt everything ..Well it is but the circuit is tight so no high sppeds the disealengine should have torque to suit..
What else great fun for you and Mondeo as well i should think!

Autotests an Autosolos = great fun. Club I am In does these on grass which is actually quite easy on the mechanical bits due to the low grip.

Production Car Trials - see how far you can get up a course on a hillside. Fun and helps you learn car control - handy for dealing with snow I expect.

Yes thats more like it..Couldn't ever think of wanting to hurt my outgoing car in any sort of Banger Reacing..Sorry stock car racing
