Nürburgring 24 Hours date for British GT - 17th May 2012
Discussion
I'm thinking about giving this a go.
The plan would be to get the Harwich/Hook of Holland ferry then onto Nurburg.
If anyone has experience of this event (i.e. the Nurburgring 24 hours as it will be a first for the British GT's which will only be doing the usual 2 hours) - I would be very interested. Also, I'll need a Hotel in the area with half sensible parking. Looking at the British GT website this gets a turnout of 200,000 so it could be a bit busy...
Any thoughts or suggestions will be welcomed.
(I was hoping that it was going to be at Spa in all honesty but will see how this goes)

Nice one - I'll give it a go but I fear the worst. The hotels I checked were fully booked.
The British GT website talks about 200,000 people going to the race.
I was hoping that this was a sleepy back water of a race

200,000 may be there, but most of them will be round the Nordschleife - the bit the BGT isn't using. Should still be a good crowd round the GP circuit though (depending on what time the race(s) are).
Err the 24hr uses the GP track and NS combined. They are in for an epic weekend. The atmosphere is amazing, crowds huge and the track mind-blowing.

Does it say which day the BGT are racing on? wouldn't be surprised if it was on the Friday or something! It will be a megga weekend, I'm hopefully racing in the 24 Hour in a Clio Cup car, if I do manage to get there come and say 'Hi' will keep you informed.
When we did the carrera world cup this year, it was on the GP and NS and was run mid Saturday morning before the main event. Shame the weather was crpa, but the event was mega.Good luck with the drive Anthony

All the best,
Pete
