From what I was toldthere were plans to:
Reprofile graham hill bend with the track running towards paddock more over where the marshals post is now and then up the bank creating a berm cambered corner like stirlings.
Reprofile the armco at paddock taking the armco back to where the wooden fence is now for 80m or so.
But tonight was told this was cancelled.

A lucky escape.
That looks even worse than That Bloody Stupid Chicane on the exit of Mansfield at Cadwell[1]...
[1] Yes, I know why it's there, but as (like 99% of trackday punters and quite a lot of "club" racers) I was never going to reach the bottom of The Mountain at high enough velocity to have the kind of accident the chicane is intended to prevent and as such don't see why I should have to have the flow of the circuit utterly destroyed for me...

I've not raced at Cadwell for a couple of years. Are they really using that bike chicane for cars?I raced from 1988 until 2008. In that time, Oulton gained two slow chicanes, Snetterton had several attempts at ruining the flowing Russell kink, Silverstone had slow complexes and chicanes added, Combe and Mallory had slow chicanes added, and Croft had a 20mph hairpin added on its reopening.
Cadwell and Brands were largely untouched. Please don't change them!
Thank god for Donington and Thruxton. And also for Bedford Autodrome, which is now one of the best 'brave' tracks and means I now spend my track money on sprints and trackdays there, rather than going racing in second gear.

Oops, missing context... I'm more of a "bike guy" rather than a "car guy" and although I have done car track days at Brands, Snetterton, and Bedford within living memory my comments about Cadwell[1] should be taken in that context. As far as I know the chicane hasn't been imposed on cars yet and there are no plans to do so.
Having said that most of Cadwell's higher profile race events are for 2 wheels rather than 4 (I'm guessing that the BSB rounds pretty much overshadow everything else so if/when Mansfield needs any significant resurfacing who knows what would happen...

[1] Which I absolutely adore and have probably done more laps of (competitively and otherwise) than on every other circuit I've ever been to put together...

As far as I’m aware the Cadwell Chicane isn’t used for Car Races. The “chicanes” at Mallory – if you mean the “bus stop” it has never been used for cars and Edwinas (at the end of Stebbe) may only have been used for a couple of car meetings, but I believe the original layout is the preferred option.I raced from 1988 until 2008. Not sure why there's a view that this has been cancelled; if you take a look at planning applications at Sevenoaks District Council the proposed changes are very much alive:
http://pa.sevenoaks.gov.uk/online-applications/app...
Determination date is 27th December and so far the local Parish Council have said they have no objection so that doesn't bode well.
As someone who has enjoyed Brands Hatch for many years as both a spectator and competitor I believe the changes are unwarrranted, out of keeping with the character of the circuit and will not improve the racing / trackday experience but in fact will have completely the opposite effect. I have created an online petition at www.twitition.com/9dsmc so if you are of a similar mind please take a moment to go there and add your name.
Many thanks Andrew Busby
