...need to buy a present for someone at ~£10; has anyone come across anything particularly interesting DVD wise of late? Got him Berg cup season review last year that went down well but something different would be nice.

He's into BTCC/WRC more than F1 but anything goes as long as it's interesting and ideally loud.

Historics would be absolutely fine if you could suggest something?

I'd prefer to buy on the strength of a like-minded review; a lot of the 'duke video' type stuff seems to have a production budget of tuppence haypenny.

If he wants genuine historic content, plus erudite introductions by the historian Doug Nye, I can recommend anything from the Motorfilms Quarterly list. They are excellent.

^^^might stick a few of those on my own Xmas list laugh

Thanks for the pointers chaps, I think the Goodwood DVD will do the job nicely (hadn't thought of that at all).

most on offer at the mo on Duke Video are a mix of Motorsports from the 06/07/08/09 seasons, but some decent stuff for the £10 budget.

depends if he wants this year action or just for the racing, some good battles were had in the BRC in 2007. the season review of the 2008 WRC is only £5 so you could pick 2 different ones up for that.

other than that, fleabay may have some right bargains for you. as long as you dont mind either 2nd hand disks or home made vids by people like MC-Video (cover most rally events in the uk and often put out a season review DVD)

TT3d - Closer To The Edge - just superb. The best motorsport documentary ever. Senna was a huge disappointment - Closer To The Edge blew me away.

Agree with TT - Closer to the Edge. I'm not even a biker and found it riveting and pant-soiling in equal measure.

'Love the Beast', with Eric Bana competing in his Ford Falcon coupe is also a great DVD.
