Hi,
I am planning on going to see either the Spanish GP or the Italian GP, I have been looking on the web but am a bit nervous to commit to a deal as there are so many site offering such things.

Can anyone please give me any advice on which is the best race, where to stay at either GP and best place in the stands?

Many thanks

Dan

Of those two I'd pick the Italian purely for the Tifosi fans - must be a great atmosphere!

I've been to neither, but it's got to be the soul of Monza over the corporate blandness of the Catalunya circuit every time smile

thumbup for Monza. Relatively easy to reach from Milan although having a native Italian speaker with us allowed to get that crucial split seconds jump on the crowd when racing to the train after the random platform changes smile Expected chaos, but given some patience, it's worth it. Bit fraught getting through the public transport system to catch our flight home though.

Had a seat at Rettifilo chicane a couple of years ago, was a great spot. It's a really nice circuit to walk around and soak up the history esp the old banking. Good atmosphere as well (especially as Ferrari won).

Even bigger thumbup for Spa. Had a seat at Eau Rouge a few years back (it was the Brawn year). Was amazing. Drove over for the weekend, stayed in a lovely hotel in Stavelot. Drive through a deserted country lane to the circuit avoiding all the jams from the main road (was having a beer in Stavelot about 25 minutes after getting to my car after the race!). Great atmosphere, lots of beers, chips and mayonnaise, again a great circuit to walk around and soak up the history.

They open the track gates after the race as well, so I've actually walked up and down Eau Rouge, and walked round to peer over the pitwall in at the teams dismantling from the start finish line.

I sat at Ascari chicane at Monza in 2011, the atmosphere is great, like a big picnic in a park. It is not just a Tifosi experiance - it is very cosmopolitan.

Get a Fanvision TV to complete the experience.

I had similar wories about who to buy tickets from. I ended up with www.global-grand-prix.com. Although they are based in Monaco, everything went very smoothly. I had a problem with the Fanvision, but the refund came through after a reminder.

Buy your tickets direct from the circuit, that's what I did.

Hire car and a hotel about 30mins away. The Italian organisation was great as they don't have 1 big car park you just park near buy pay about €7 for the shuttle bus. Car park was only around 1000 cars so no traffic jams or anything.

That was Monza...loved it. Made all the better by a McLaren pit tour on the Friday smile

It might be worth posting a link for the circuit. I entered a site with an .it suffix that I believed was the circuit and so was surprised when I discoverred it was Monaco-based when it came to paying.

We drove to a hotel in the centre of Milan and used the local trains, which worked well. Best tip I can give is take something soft to sit on - the steel benches are bum-numbing after many hours of support races etc.
