I'm just a little.. well.. meh

So I've been watching F1 since around 1990, and have tried to watch every race every season (or at a minimum the highlights - yes even the Msc domination years). I normally keep up to date on the latest driver movings, car launches etc.
But this year I am just a little.. well.. disinterested? It's nearly the start of the season and I'm not really bothered at all.
Maybe it'll change when it gets underway but right now I am not sure I'll be watching the highlights on BBC (no Sky for me).
Anyone else feel the same?

Yep! You're not the only one. When Hamilton first started, it genuinely started to get exciting again and I thought it would be a return to form. However, this last season has hardly been watched by myself and the launch of this year's stupid nosecones makes me think I won't be bothering!

F1 is not about nose ones. I do not watch football for the lovely football kits, or the nice boots. F1 is about racing.

For me it's the knowledge that for the first time in two decades I won't watching the first race of the season live.

So get sky, or watch it online, or a foregn channel. People have had to pay for football coverage for 20 years.

Switched over to endurance racing about five years ago and this rekindled my love of the sport... F1 is just becoming more and more irrelevant...

last week end the daytone 24 hours was won by less than 6 seconds after a race where the leader were never more than 29 seconds apart for hours...

I used to even get up in the middle of the night to watch races. I think we have to understand that at the moment the focus is not on racing funded by marketing but marketing via racing. DRS and KERS are a joke whilst the technology on my old 4x4 is banned. But I suppose the sponsors are more appreciative of advertising-susceptible East Enders watchers than racing fans.

I'm pretty much the reverse. Been watching since mid 80's and early to mid 2000s I watched very little (by comparison with how I did previously) but in the last few years it's much better and I'm looking forward to 2012 enormously.

My interest in F1 began in the mid 1960s and it has waxed and waned over the intervening years. I've always followed it and I've watched it by whatever means were available to me over the decades. My interest is again on a downward curve (partly helped in that direction by the Sky deal) but I will continue to follow the sport in whatever way I can.

Your life would be exceptionally shallow if you only liked and only ever watched F1. I think it's fine for your interest to ebb and flow if you're replacing it in your life with something else with substance.

Just don't come here and whine like a straight-cut 'box about how you used to like it; it's petty!

I hope you aren't referring to me.

My problem is that I have far too many interests. So squeezing in time for the following of F1 was always a bit of an effort. Thankfully, old Rupert has facilitated my easing away from F1.
