2012 HRT F1 car

Good news: They have a new logo.



Bad news: The rest of the car appears to be completely white, not a sniff of a sponsorship anywhere. And that car looks a lot like the 2011 car around the sidepods and airbox, which was based on the 2010 car...

Edited because its a 2011 chassis in the pictures below, not a 2012. No new car to see here, move along.

Where's the ugly step in the nose?

Either this doesn't conform to rules or HRT has found a great way of getting round them by having high edges. Any F1 boffins know more?

Looks very much like the 2011 front wing to me. It comes down at quite an angle though so might be below the constrained areas already

I dont think the step is mandatory, just the height of the nose

Edit: I also read they *were* testing the 2011 car this week, with the new car at the next test?

Probably just testing last years car, thats what they did last season until they got to the Aussie GP

According to Autosport De La Rosa is testing last years car for two days at the first test.

2012 HRT is being prepared for the first Barcelona test in a fortnight's time - testing with 2011 car for 2 days this week!

What ever it is, its a pretty car alright.

Even the air vent for the drivers, on the tip of npse cone is happy.

Hopefully Alonso gets fed up with another duff Ferrari and joins HRT, to become team Alonso, and win races in three years time.

2012, they take the stickers off




It reminds me of Osella in the 80s. They bought the 1983 Alfas, painted them blue and used the same car for about five years!

I wonder if their new car will be on the same chassis again, although there were rumours that Caterham were to build the tubs for them. (I'm not sure if that means an F1 tub or a Roadsport. I wouldn't like to bet....)

HRT are building their own chassis utilising Williams KERS, gearbox and outboard suspension components.
