Yes I do know what Google is. That's the site where I found out what the cost of General admission is. Thank you so much. What I'm asking for is what the ticket gives me. Will I be up against the fence, wincing as F1 cars rush past me at 220mph. Or will I be 30km's away from the track, behind a row of Porta-loo's?

Ah, the famous Melbourne Grand Prix enters the scene again. Is this being run the same weekend as the Australian GP?
Oh no something is wrong on the internet.I call it the Melbourne GP is that ok?

Nothing to stop you calling it waht you like. Bur F1 GPs are officially called after nations or states, not cities - except in the odd occasion when two GPs are held in the same country in the same year. The event in Melbourne is officially the Australian GP. It always has been.
You are correct. To me though I'll be flying over to the Melbourne GP. Maybe because I'm relatively local I guess. Anyway so minor we all know what we mean.I went in 2009, absolutely incredible, it's a shame your missing the build up this week as the 'F1 buzz' is everywhere in the city, really impressive.
I was in Clark grandstand for the race but used general admission on the Friday/Saturday.
There was a good viewing area on the inside of the circuit by Brabham which overlooked the first couple of corners.
It was very accessible for qualifying, but I would guess you have to arrive early for a good spot on race day.
The part of the circuit which runs alongside Albert Road was also fairly good as you could get quite close to the action & 'feel' the cars.
Have fun chaps!
