Spanish Grand Prix - Any Good To Go?

I've seen a good deal this morning for the Spanish Grand Prix with an all-inclusive deal and wondered whether anyone on here has been? It isn't the most exciting race to watch on the TV, but wondered whether it would be worthwhile to actually go to the race over there.
Weather etc should be pretty good, being May and looking at hotel location, transfers should be fine, but have no experience of going to this race, so thought I'd get some opinions from people that have before I actually commit!

I've been twice now and had THE most fantastic weekends. Granted these are the only 2 GP's I have ever been to but still a great experience.
We stayed in the cheapest/worst hotel right on La Ramblas so was very close to the night life etc for when you get back from the circuit. We found a small kiosk near to the centre that did return coach trips to the track all day, very cheap and easy access on the way back.
As for the circuit itself, the first time we went we walked round the whole perimeter of the track, to be honest there wasnt much point, few stalls etc but not much to see. We watched the racing from a grand stand right next to the pit entrance, so basically we could see them flying down the back straight then going through the whole complex at the end of the lap, my only complaint with this is that when they actually came past us the cars were going relatively slow and thus you missed a bit of the noise, but this was only a minor issue and certainly didnt spoil the overall effect. If I were to go again I think I'd like to sit in a grand stand at the end of the main straight just to hear them at full belt.
As for the other fans, at the time we went there was a lot of hostility because of the whole Alonso/McLaren thing and to be honest I was kind of expecting some form of trouble from the spanish fans but that couldnt have been any further from the reality. The people sat round us were great, all spanish, Ferrari fans, Renault fans etc etc, they all brought beer, food, wine and whisky and god knows what else and it all got shared and passed around on race day. By the time we left I was suitably drunk, sunburnt and deaf!
We going again next year for my 30th, I'm looking forwarc to it already!

Thanks for that, great to hear that it was such a worthwhile weekend! Well, I'm still very tempted as I'm unlikely to be able to go to any others this season because of work and having to plan annual leave.
The hotels all seem to be a decent distance from the circuit and I reckon it would be a really cheap way to see the qualifying and race that weekend!

It isn't the most exciting circuit to view from as most of the terraces are high and a long way from the track. However, you can see a lot of the circuit from most viewing areas.
It is really easy to get from Barcelona to the circuit on the train too.
So, in summary, not a great track, but its close to a great city. Something that can't be said of Silverstone or Nurburgring, for example.
