I just spotted the entry on the Lotus 7 Club website a short while ago. I also posted a link in the Club Motorsport Forum.

This "time trial event" -- was it the Regis Sprint? Apparently the meeting was abandoned due to several crashes.

The event was cancelled due to this one tragic incident.

There were however a number of offs during the day.

Thoughts go out to her family and friends.

I am guessing the conditions must have been pretty bad?

It would come across better if you just told people there was another thread running, unless you're going to close the thread....

The Club Motorsport forum is propbably not that often frequented by PHers compared to the General Motorsport forum.

Last year 11 fatalities, IIRC.

While everything that is done to improve safety, there will always be a risk...

Is that the total for UK motorsports?

World wide, from as many sports as I could find.

If I've heard of it, and it has wheels and a engine, then it's included.
Of that, 7 were road racing, bikes and sidecars, 1 was a sidecar passenger on track, 1 was motorcycle track racing, 1 indycar, and 1 drag racer.

I've just remembered a report about a south american touring car series, so that's 2 more...

Has been some time though, and there may well have been more. (Most likely, as 11 world wide sounds low. Be great if it was though, some series had more than that in a year in the past...)
