Going to the British F1 GP for the first time....

A mate and I are going to the F1 GP for the first time in July and I had a couple of questions -
- Have they changed the date? When I originally booked the date of the GP was the 15th of July, it's now showing as the 8th
- We have full weekend tickets for Fri, Sat and Sun can anyone give me an idea on what time we need to arrive? We have on-site parking, not sure if that makes a big difference or not.

Take some earplugs- speaking as a half deaf idiot (too many years watching racing without them ).You will not believe the noise , especially on a muggy day.Insect repellent not a bad idea if harvest bugs around- have seen a grandstand emptied because of the little sods! And if it's wet you may get a great race - but remember it can get bloody freezing at Silverstone, even in July. Take a book- if you get there early enough (and you can't be too early ) there can be a lot of waiting involved. If you can ,move around and watch cars from different vantage points, especially in practice/ qualifying. Make sure you can tell one driver from another before you go- not being daft but many first timers can feel a bit lost when there is no TV commentator. During the race concentrate on who is where- again it's very easy to lose the plot without a TV director showing you what they think is important. Don't just look at the Hamiltons and Buttons- spend some time watching carefully the mid-field and lower cars- you don't get to see them much on the box and you can sometimes see some heroic driving of a mediocre car. If you have never seen a GP car live you will NEVER forget the first time they come round....

Four of us will be going there for Saturday only. First time as well for all of us. I've got parking on site, so what time would be best to turn up there? Also any tips for making the most of the day would be gratefully received. Cheers! 
Aim to be there 6-7am, bring earphoones for your phone sop you can listen to silverstone radioEar defenders with ear plugs connected to a cheap radio means you'll know exactly what's going on.
Small pair of binoculars are also useful.
Comfy footwear/walking boots a must.
Strong stomach for the s

Don't wait until you are desperate to join the queue for the bog......
If leaving on the day of race then expect a long wait as the 4 lanes become 2 on the way home.

Checked the F1 website,yes it's the 6th to 8th.- Have they changed the date? When I originally booked the date of the GP was the 15th of July, it's now showing as the 8th
Don't know if it was originally 15th
